God can use those who are present

Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!  I don’t know the man!”

Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed.                                           ~Luke 22:60

Can you imagine what went through Peter's mind the moment the cock crowed?  He was found out, embarassed and humiliated for denying the Man he had followed for three years.

Note that when the cock crowed, Peter was by himself.   Not to disparage the  other disciples, but they were nowhere to be found.  Peter was at least… present. 

I don’t know about you but sometimes I get worried that I’m  not saying the right things.  I fall short.   I know that.  Perhaps you too  are worried that you will say the wrong thing.  But in the passage above, keep in mind that Peter was at least present.

That doesn’t mean he had it all figured out but he was in the vicinity.  Jesus didn’t give up on Peter.  He used him to shake up the world.  Perhaps Jesus wants to  use you.  He can.  But only  if you are at least willing to say “Present”.
